 Consider these benefits of healthy turfgrass:

• Cleaner air: Grass traps and removes dust and dirt from the air.
• Cooler air: Surface areas are signifcantly cooler than concrete or asphalt, especially during summer.
• Cleaner water: Grass filters and traps pollutants that could otherwise seep down from the surface and threaten groundwater supplies.
• Safer surfaces: Grass produces a safe playing surface for children, adults and athletes.
• Less erosion: Grass shoots, stems, roots and leaves hold soil in place, reducing erosion.
• Added dollar value: According to research studies, aesthetically pleasing landscapes that include grassed areas can add 15% to home property values.
• Healthy environments: Scientific research shows that hospital patients recover faster when well designed and maintained landscapes surround the facility.

OUR GREEN OFFICE INITIATIVES:

• recycle paper, magazines and cardboard materials
• use organic based fertilizers
• stewards of IPM pesticide reduction
• accept products without packaging whenever possible
• PROMOTE electronic correspondence whenever possible with our clients
• purchase only remanufactured and recyclable ink toners and print cartridges
• vegetable based inks on all printed material
• print double sided
• purchase energy star rated office equipment
• replace all lighting with and use only  energy efficient lightbulbs in office and shop areas
• switching gas driven pumps to electric
• phase out older gas guzzling vehicles and choose fuel efficient vehicles as budget allows
• turn heat down 1 degree in winter
• use air conditioning less in summer
• timers on office lights
• recycle and re-use skids
• purchase used office furniture whenever possible to reduce waste.
